This picture was taken in New Jersey early May 2010. Less than a year before, I added the brindle boy Guardian to my herd. He was placed as a puppy and at 3 plus years old called his breeder and asked that they pick him up, they no longer wanted him. On that day he looked really bad. I had elected to take Sable at 7, so I thought it would be time to see if a boy would work out in our herd. Guardian traveled with us back to the show circuit and I started to rehab him. He did really well at fitting in and all the ladies loved him. I brought him to 190 pounds and showed him in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona & Southern California. Here he is around the Trenton Show in 2010. He went from rescue to RWD in Arizona, and BOB in New Mexico. He showed well in Trenton, NJ but did not place in open dog.
The day after the show, he got sick and went into renal failure. He died shortly after. I learned alot from this boy and will always miss him. He was 4 years and 6 months old when he passed away.
One lesson learned: When you take in an adult get base information for health purposes. I actually had his hips ex-rayed while in Pleasanton, California at a show. I now have blood work done on all that I do not know from birth to establish a base line, especially for renal values.
